Valid IDs Accepted by Loan Apps: Every Published List
Contents
Which valid IDs do loan apps accept? Most apps confirm identity with one government-issued ID, but the named lists differ, and nobody accepts everything. This page collects every published ID list from the lenders we track, verified September 16, 2026, and adds the two rules that decide whether your wallet contents will work.
Every published ID list, side by side
| Lender | IDs explicitly named |
|---|---|
| Finbro | SSS, UMID, driver's license, passport, National ID (PhilSys), Postal ID |
| Kviku | UMID, SSS, driver's license, TIN ID, National ID (PhilSys), passport |
| JuanHand | SSS, UMID, driver's license, TIN, National ID (PhilSys), passport |
| Home Credit | Primary and Secondary ID lists published on its site |
| Happy Cash, Moca Moca, BillEase, Cashalo, Mabilis Cash | "1 valid government-issued ID" — specific types not named |
| PesoLoan, MoneyCat, Tala, VPlus, HoneyLoan | No public ID list; requirements live in the app |
Three consistencies stand out. The UMID and the driver's license appear on every list that names names. The PhilSys National ID has joined the accepted set across recent listings. And two formerly common IDs, the student ID and the company ID, appear nowhere. Neither is government-issued.
The two rules that decide acceptance
Rule one: government-issued only. Every published list names government IDs, which is why student, company, and membership cards fail. The question to ask of any ID in your wallet: who issued it?
Rule two: current and readable. Lenders describe "one valid government-issued ID". Validity has a date on it. An expired passport or a faded UMID photo fails the same check a clone app would exploit. Happy Cash adds face recognition and Plentina a dated selfie, so the ID must match the face in the frame, under the app's own flow.
What about the IDs nobody names?
Silence works both ways. Some government IDs simply do not appear on any published list we track — acceptance is possible but unverified, and the app's requirement screen is the only authority. Our page on the PhilHealth ID walks through that case in detail. For Tala, MoneyCat's mobile page, and PesoLoan, the requirements live inside the app rather than on a public page, so plan to qualify before comparing anything else.
How to prepare your ID
Four habits from the verification guides. Photograph the ID in good light, all corners visible. Match the name across ID, application, and wallet or bank account. Kviku requires the payout account under your name. Keep the selfie requirement inside the official app; a chat "agent" asking for your ID photos is running the impostor pattern from our harassment guide. And screenshot the requirement screen before you fill it. The same habit our requirements table teaches for every app.
Frequently asked questions
What valid IDs do loan apps accept?
Government-issued IDs, and the named lists converge on SSS, UMID, driver's license, passport, TIN, Postal ID, and the PhilSys National ID. Specific lists are published by Finbro, Kviku, and JuanHand; most other apps accept "1 valid government-issued ID" without naming types.
Is a PhilHealth ID accepted by loan apps?
No app in our tables names it explicitly, so acceptance is unverified rather than confirmed. It is a government-issued ID, which satisfies the general rule, but ask inside the app before relying on it. The full discussion is on our PhilHealth ID page.
Can I use a student ID or company ID?
No published list accepts them, because neither is government-issued. The valid ID lists above name only government documents.
Do loan apps check if my ID is real?
Yes, by several mechanisms: face recognition (Happy Cash), selfie-with-paper checks (Plentina), and the app's own verification flow. That is also why ID photos should only ever pass through the official app, never a chat agent.
The bottom line for borrowers
The UMID and driver's license pass everywhere that publishes a list; the PhilSys National ID has joined the accepted set; and everything else depends on the app's requirement screen. Check the name, check the date, keep the flow inside the official app. Registry verification for every lender in this table is on our SEC registered lending apps list.
