The PesoLoan loan app offers ₱1,000 to ₱100,000 over 91 to 180 days, with interest capped at 20 percent per year in its App Store listing. It runs through Masaganang Buhay Finance Philippines Corporation, a financing company that appears in the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) list of recorded online lending platforms. That part checks out. The honest catch is pricing: PesoLoan publishes no separate fees, so this review prints the listing's own repayment example, runs the math, and flags what the app keeps quiet about. Registry status verified September 16, 2026.
PesoLoan at a glance: the facts we verified
Every row below comes from my September 16, 2026 check of official sources: the app's own listing, the SEC platforms list, and pesoloan.ph. Where the listing stays silent, the table says so.
| Item | What we verified | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Lender of record | Masaganang Buhay Finance Philippines Corporation (financing company) | App Store listing; SEC platforms list, January 26, 2026 |
| SEC record | Entry No. 60 in the January 26, 2026 list; platform No. 91, "Pesoloan", recorded October 14, 2019 | SEC list, reprinted February 6, 2026 |
| Registration numbers | CS201824008; Certificate of Authority No. 1185 | App Store disclosure |
| Loan limit | "Maximum loan limit: PHP1,000 - PHP100,000" | App Store listing |
| Term | "Loan period: 91 days to 180 days" | App Store listing |
| Interest rate | "Low interest (maximum APR): 20% per year" | App Store listing |
| Fees | None published separately; the listing promises free transfers to any bank or e-wallet | App Store listing |
| Speed claims | "Get approved in seconds"; "95% individuals get the amount they want" | App Store listing (marketing language) |
| Disbursement | "Money released into your preferred account after approval" | App Store listing |
| Requirements | Filipino citizens, 18 to 60 years old | App Store listing |
| Official channels | www.pesoloan.ph; App Store listing live since April 10, 2019 | our check, September 16, 2026 |
Two rows deserve a second look. The ₱100,000 ceiling is one of the highest limits among the apps we track: MocaMoca, VPlus, and Mocasa stop at ₱50,000, Happy Cash at ₱25,000, Mabilis Cash at ₱90,000. The 20 percent yearly cap sits at the low end for the niche, where published ceilings run from 18 percent at VPlus to 36 percent at Mocasa, 131 percent at Mabilis Cash, and 145 percent at MoneyCat. Both numbers look strong. Neither one includes a fee schedule, because no fee schedule exists in public.
What is PesoLoan and who runs it?
PesoLoan is a mobile lending platform operated by Masaganang Buhay Finance Philippines Corporation. Its listed address is L24 PSE Tower, One Bonifacio High St., BGC, Taguig, and it is registered as a financing company. Brand and license sit in different hands, as usual in this market: the SEC record belongs to the corporation, not to the app icon. Clones make that distinction matter. The full breakdown lives on our PesoLoan SEC status page.
The app is one of the veterans of the niche. Its App Store listing has been live since April 10, 2019, and the platform was recorded by the SEC on October 14, 2019. Most apps in the 2026 wave are younger than that. The pitch is simple: borrow from your phone, get the money sent to any bank or e-wallet account, with transfers promised free of charge. That is a listing claim, not one we could test from outside the app.
How to borrow from PesoLoan: the official steps
The whole process runs inside the app, from install to payout. Here is every step I could confirm from official sources, with the gaps marked.
- Get the official app. The App Store listing has been live since April 10, 2019, or you can start from www.pesoloan.ph. An Android package named ph.com.peso.fast.loan.android exists, but its store page would not open during our check, so download only through the official site's link.
- Apply. The listing sets two requirements: Filipino citizenship and an age between 18 and 60. No document list is published.
- Pick an amount and term. Borrow between ₱1,000 and ₱100,000, repayable over 91 to 180 days.
- Wait for the decision. The listing says "Get approved in seconds." Treat that as advertising. No approval time is guaranteed anywhere.
- Receive the money. Approved funds go to your preferred account, per the listing, and transfers to any bank or e-wallet are advertised as free.
Notice the gap in that list. Nowhere in the listing or on the site is there a fee table. That silence shapes the next section.
The real cost of a PesoLoan loan: the published example
PesoLoan is more open than most rivals on interest. But what does a loan actually cost? The full breakdown, ceiling recomputed, lives on our PesoLoan interest rate page. The app listing even ships a worked example. Borrow ₱20,000 for 91 days, and the listing's own math runs like this: a monthly rate of 1.67 percent (the 20 percent yearly cap divided by 12), interest of ₱334 per month, total interest of ₱1,011.11, total repayment of ₱21,011.11. Those figures come straight from the App Store listing. They describe the ceiling rate, not necessarily your offer.
Run that example through the effective-APR formula we apply to every app: everything repaid minus what you received, divided by what you received, times 365 over the loan days. The result is roughly 20.3 percent a year. Our estimate lands right on the advertised cap. Full method is on the methodology page, and the loan calculator does the same math for any offer.
Here is the honest part. That 20.3 percent counts interest only. PesoLoan publishes no processing fee, no service fee, no late penalty, anywhere we could find. If any such charge applies, it shows up only on your offer screen or disclosure statement, and it pushes the real price above the estimate. Five checks close that gap before you commit:
| Check | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Amount you receive | The exact pesos credited, after any deduction |
| Total repayment | Everything you pay back: interest plus every fee |
| Fee names | Any processing, service, or disbursement charge, named and quantified |
| Due date | A date inside the 91 to 180 day window you picked |
| Late penalty | What a missed payment adds; nothing is published today |
If the offer screen shows fees the listing never mentioned, screenshot it. Then decide with real numbers.
Pros and cons at a glance
The honest ledger, good and bad on the same scale.
Pros
- A recorded platform: entry No. 60 in the SEC online lending platforms list of January 26, 2026, recorded since October 14, 2019
- Limits up to ₱100,000, among the highest we track in this niche
- A published rate ceiling of 20 percent a year, low by the niche's standards
- Transfers to any bank or e-wallet advertised as free at disbursement
- Terms of 91 to 180 days, longer than the 30-day norm
- An app listing live since April 2019, older than most rivals
Cons
- No published fee schedule of any kind, so the real cost cannot be checked before the offer screen
- "95% individuals get the amount they want" and "Get approved in seconds" are marketing claims, not verifiable facts
- A fake clone named "Peso Loan" appeared in the SEC advisory of March 2026, so the brand name itself carries risk
- The CA number 1185 comes from the app's own listing disclosure; our cross-check runs through the platforms list, not a direct registry extract
- The Google Play package page would not open during our verification
- No independent borrower reviews surfaced in our check
Six items on each side, and the biggest con is also the biggest unknown. Registration makes PesoLoan legal. Fee disclosure would make it comparable.
What to know before you apply
We looked for independent borrower reviews to balance the listing's claims. We found none we could verify during this check. None at all. That gap is why this section replaces the usual "what borrowers say" block.
The only borrower-facing claims in our corpus come from the listing itself: approval in seconds, 95 percent of people getting the amount they want, free transfers. Marketing language. Six years of covering consumer credit taught me one habit: check the missing numbers before the visible ones. Before you apply, work through this list:
- Read the offer screen before accepting: amount received, total repayment, every named fee.
- Ask where fees would appear. Nothing is published today, so get the answer in writing inside the app.
- Confirm the due date sits inside the 91 to 180 day term you selected.
- Check the payout account first, so you know exactly where the money lands.
- Screenshot the disclosure. The Truth in Lending Act (RA 3765) requires creditors to disclose the finance charge and the annual rate in writing before the transaction closes.
Five minutes of reading beats a month of surprises.
Red flags: the fake "Peso Loan" clone
Here is the real danger. The biggest threat to a PesoLoan borrower in 2026 is not PesoLoan. It is an app wearing a nearly identical name.
In March 2026, the SEC's second advisory on unrecorded online lending platforms named "Peso Loan" among fake clones in the App Store, as published by GMA on March 12, 2026. The name is two words. The registered product is one. That gap is exactly what impersonators rely on. We log each wave on our illegal loan apps tracker, and name collisions are a recurring pattern there.
How to tell the real one from the fake:
- The real app belongs to Masaganang Buhay Finance Philippines Corporation, entry No. 60 in the SEC platforms list. A clone has no such record. Cross-check on the PesoLoan SEC status page.
- The official App Store listing has been live since April 10, 2019. A listing born last month is not it.
- Start from www.pesoloan.ph, not from an ad or a chat link.
- If any "Peso Loan" offer asks for money before releasing your loan, stop. Upfront cash demands sit on our loan app red flags checklist.
PesoLoan alternatives worth checking
Three registered options if the missing fee table is a deal-breaker. All statuses checked against the SEC registry on September 16, 2026.
MoneyCat. CA 1254, a registered financing company. Its first loan costs nothing: 0 percent interest and no processing fee, with repeat loans running up to 11.9 percent per month (about 145 percent APR at the ceiling, our estimate). Amounts run ₱500 to ₱20,000, far below PesoLoan's ceiling. Full breakdown: MoneyCat review.
High-limit picks. If the ₱100,000 ceiling is the reason you are here, compare it against the field first. Our roundup of high-limit loan apps ranks registered apps by how much they actually lend without collateral. Every pick passes the same SEC gate we applied to PesoLoan.
Mocasa. CA 3015, operated by Philippines Cashtrout Lending Corporation. It lends ₱1,000 to ₱50,000 over 91 to 365 days, caps interest at 36 percent a year, and discloses a 0.4 percent service fee up front. A higher rate ceiling than PesoLoan, but fees out in the open. Every registered name, Mocasa included, sits in our SEC registered lending apps list.
Ready to try the official app? Go straight to the source: www.pesoloan.ph. Never install a "Peso Loan" app from an ad, a chat message, or an unverified store listing.
Disclosure: LigtasLoan earns a commission when you apply through links on this site, at no extra cost to you. Commissions never change which apps we list, their order, or our SEC status checks. LigtasLoan is not a lender and does not process applications.
Frequently asked questions
Is PesoLoan SEC registered?
Yes. The platform operates through Masaganang Buhay Finance Philippines Corporation, registration number CS201824008, with Certificate of Authority No. 1185 disclosed in its App Store listing. The company appears as entry No. 60 in the SEC online lending platforms list released January 26, 2026, with platform No. 91, "Pesoloan", recorded October 14, 2019. Verified September 16, 2026.
Is PesoLoan legit ba or scam?
The operator is legit: a financing company recorded in the SEC platforms list since 2019. The scam risk is impersonation. In March 2026 the SEC advisory named "Peso Loan", a two-word name, among fake clones in the App Store. Verify the entity, install through the official channels from pesoloan.ph, and never pay money upfront.
What is PesoLoan interest rate?
The listing caps interest at 20 percent per year. Its worked example borrows ₱20,000 for 91 days at that ceiling: ₱334 of interest per month, ₱1,011.11 total, ₱21,011.11 repaid. Fees are not published separately, so the real cost of your offer may differ. Compare the offer screen numbers before you accept.
Is the "Peso Loan" app in the March 2026 SEC advisory the same as PesoLoan?
No. The advisory listed "Peso Loan" among fake clones in the App Store. The registered PesoLoan app has been published since April 10, 2019 and belongs to Masaganang Buhay Finance Philippines Corporation, entry No. 60 in the SEC platforms list. Different name, different record.
How much can I borrow from PesoLoan?
Between ₱1,000 and ₱100,000, repayable over 91 to 180 days, released to your preferred bank or e-wallet account. The listing claims "95% individuals get the amount they want", which is marketing language, not a guarantee. Your approved amount depends on the app's own assessment.
Verdict: who should (and should not) borrow from PesoLoan
So should you borrow from PesoLoan? Scenario by scenario:
- A large amount, up to ₱100,000, from a recorded lender. This is where PesoLoan stands out; few registered apps go this high. Read the offer screen for fees first.
- Comparing cost across apps. The 20 percent yearly cap is competitive on paper. Fees are unpublished, so get the offer, run it through our loan calculator, then decide.
- Cash in a hurry. "Approved in seconds" is advertising copy. No timing is guaranteed, so plan for a wait.
- You found an app spelled "Peso Loan", or any offer demanding upfront fees. That is clone behavior, not the registered product. Check the illegal loan apps list before you pay anything.
The verdict, then. PesoLoan clears the bar on paper: a recorded financing company, one of the highest limits in the niche, a rate cap near the bottom of the range. The missing fee table keeps the real price behind the offer screen, where only you can read it. Registration first, numbers second, signature last.
